OpenLaszlo 3.3 Hits the Street

Tuesday, May 23rd, 2006

Well, OpenLaszlo 3.3 just hit the street. This release started out as a minor update to our 3.2 release in March: an opportunity to fix a few regressions and to polish up some of the new features in 3.2. Most of the internal team is absorbed with Legals, the multi-runtime release coming later in the year, so we haven't expected much motion on the 3.x series.

Along the way, though, two things happened that turned this into a more significant release. First, we received a raft of documentation improvements from John Sundman, gonzo author and OpenLaszlo's doc guy. Second, and most exciting, the community really stepped up with a number of useful incubator contributions and platform bug fixes.

The release notes tell the full story, but here are some highlights:

+ new event/handler syntax documented
+ numerous bugs fixed for datacombobox
+ vslider (S. Wagner)
+ time validator (L. Ritossa)
+ view with customizable border (B. Erickson)
+ many improvements to tooltip manager (D.Kim)
+ french translation of dguide (M. Duchene)
+ lzc.bat files fixed in windows distribution

Thanks, everyone, for helping to make this a bigger release than we expected!
