Atomic Object just reminded us that they have released an open source mock objects unit testing library for OpenLaszlo. The library is specifically targeted to unit testing of interactive applications, a notoriously tricky process.
The library is called LaszloMock and is available directly from Atomic Object.

Laszlo employees don’t seem to have much time to write and release personal apps, but Scott Evans, technical lead on LaszloMail, just posted a beta of Applejuice, a photo gallery application written in OpenLaszlo. Applejuice galleries are run from a simple XML file; galleries can be created using Scott’s Picasa plugin, with PHP, or by hand-authoring XML.
The release includes source code, and there are a few bits that LZX hackers might enjoy: the priorityview class allows some dynamically loaded images to take priority over others; there’s a URL-based scheme to allow deep-linking; applejuice builds are scripted using lzc. There’s also context menus, keyboard nav, and a lot of attention to layout performance.
We’re pretty sure the nifty name has something to do with the beverage of choice of two-year-olds, but for more insight into that question and an article about the coding decisions Scott made in Applejuice, keep an eye on Scott’s blog.
